Art & Craft

Every child is the artist! The children are provided with the opportunity to express themselves through several artistic mediums including watercolors, clay and craft materials. The individual creative efforts of each child are encouraged in a non-judgmental free expression environment.

Each camp is different topic.

Art Courses are taught by professional teachers from NSCAD.

 

Topic 1: Fantasy Worlds (7/6 – 7/10 @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

Build an entire universe from imagination! In Fantasy World, kids will design imaginative environments such as enchanted forests, floating islands, hidden kingdoms, and futuristic realms. Through a combination of drawing, painting, and hands-on craft activities, students will explore depth, perspective, and atmosphere while creating rich visual worlds filled with characters and stories.

This topic encourages creativity, problem-solving, and big-picture thinking through immersive and imaginative art-making.

 

 

Topic 2: Clay Creations 1 & 2 (7/13 – 7/17, 8/17 – 8/21  @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

* This theme is offered in two sessions. While the overall topic remains the same, each session features different projects, materials, and creative exploration.

Get Ready to Sculpt! 🎨✨

Roll up your sleeves and get creative in our Clay Creations summer camp! Kids will explore the basics of clay sculpting, learning techniques like coiling, pinching, and shaping. They will mold and sculpt their own adorable animals, mini pottery, and fun imaginative figures!

With guided hands-on activities, children will turn simple clay into unique handmade masterpieces, developing their fine motor skills and artistic creativity along the way. Let’s shape, build, and bring our clay creations to life!

 

Topic 3: Superheroes (7/20 – 7/24 @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

Unleash your inner hero! In Superheroes, kids will imagine and design their own heroic characters inspired by demon hunters and other popular or legendary heroes. Through drawing, painting, and hands-on craft activities, students may create weapons, accessories, or wearable pieces to bring their heroes to life. This open-ended theme encourages creativity, storytelling, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment, allowing each child to explore what being a hero means to them.

 

Topic 4: Dream World (7/27 – 7/31 @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

Step into a world where imagination has no limits! In our Dream World art camp, children will explore surreal landscapes, floating cities, symbolic imagery, and scenes inspired by dreams and emotions. Through guided crafts, drawing, and painting activities, students will learn how to translate ideas, memories, and feelings into visual stories. This topic encourages creative thinking, self-expression, and freedom to imagine beyond reality.

 

Topic 5: Space & Science (8/4 – 8/7 @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

Discover outer space and the inspiring colors and shapes of galaxies and planets! Children will blast off on a creative learning journey about space and solar systems. Through different galactic activities and a variety of mediums, they will create their own space-themed artworks with rocket-ships, aliens, stars and planets!

 

 

Topic 6: Modern Masters (8/10 – 8/14 @8:30AM – 5:30PM) 

Discover art history through hands-on creation! In Modern Masters, children will explore iconic artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, Mondrian, and Picasso. By learning about their styles, techniques, and ideas, students will create their own artworks inspired by bold colors, expressive brushstrokes, abstraction, and composition. This topic helps kids understand artistic styles while encouraging them to develop their own creative voice.

 

Topic 7 Cartooning (8/24-8/28 @8:30AM – 5:30PM)

Jump into the fun world of cartooning! Kids will explore drawing, storytelling, and character creation through hands-on projects like comic books, flip books, board games, and trading cards. This playful camp encourages imagination, creativity, and lots of fun through art!
